Precision Linear Motor
Waterjet Cutting System
Water technology allows for a versatile, economical, environmentally safe cutting system. Our Waterjet system has an ability to cut almost any material to an accuracy of .001" of an inch and a repeatability of .0005". Our waterjet is dual-headed, increasing productivity. It also has linear motors that offer consistent accuracy and perfect cutting velocity for better cuts at higher speeds. This Waterjet is equipped with Heaidenhain 530 Control along with the MasterCam X Waterjet software for minimum material usage and capable of importing any scanned image.
Some forms of material include any simple or complex shapes from steel, aluminum, stainless, titanium, chrome alloy, glass, granite, marble, laminates, plastics, composites, paper, fabric, wood or virtually anything without the thermal or mechanical distortions associated with mechanical saws.
Our Waterjet has a table size of 6' x 12', and is capable of cutting steel products up to 6" inches thick; aluminum and other materials up to 8" thick.
Any tile or stone, natural or engineered, can be cut with our Waterjet. The extremely powerful cutting tool can be used to cut even the most delicate or brittle material such as glass, yet, there is no metallurigical changes to the material itself - no heat zone or stress to the material.
Our Waterjet Cutting System features pressurized water from 5,000 - 60,000 per square inch from a .010 diamond orifice and .030" nozzle for machined quality edges. The stream exits the nozzle at approximately 2700 feet per second or 2.5 times faster that the speed of sound.
The Waterjet cutting process involves no chemicals, gases, or noxious fumes. Abrasive Waterjet cutters use garnet as an abrasive. This creates a very clean process. There is no dust created when cutting stone with Waterjet technology, thus providing a safer working environment.
Custom built for Scott's Welding & Fabrication, Inc. in May 2006, this state-of-the-art Waterjet is the newest in the Waterjet technology. |
